Saint Peter’s was beautiful.
And the ONLY spot in Rome where I could take a picture without a beggar in the way. If you have been there, you understand.
Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City is one of the holiest sites in Christendom. It was founded by Emperor Constantine in 324 and stands upon the site where Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus was crucified and buried. Saint Peter’s Basilica was rebuilt in the 16th century by several Renaissance masters such as Michelangelo. Make sure to check out Pieta, regarded as Michelangelo’s finest masterpiece.
